Last semester of Freshman year 1/29
Most freshman can not wait until their first year of highschool is over. I can definitely relate but I am also going to miss this year. Everything can only get harder from here. This is one of the last years where our responsibilities are small.
For the next four months, my schedule is super packed. I am doing two sports which take up almost every weekday including saturdays. I am also going out of town almost every holiday. I also have to plan my summer for camp, Chilean exchange trip, beach trips, cross country bootcamp, and family vacations. I hope I can make the best of the rest of freshman year.
Reading response 1/29
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian is a very interesting book. It includes humor that appeals to teens and a real life events. So far, the characters that have been introduced have different and relatable personalities. I can tell this book has many different things happening at once that are happy and sad.
I thought this book was not going to be a good book, but I am liking it more than I thought. I think that the more I read the more I will enjoy it. I cant wait to see what comes next.

Research Update
My research topic is the French revolution. It lasted ten years and took three to reconstruct. This revolution was a huge breakthrough for France. It turned France from an absolute monarchy into a united, patriotic country. Throughout this event, there were many attacks and batttles fought. Many were led by Napoleon Bonaparte. He was one of the greatest leaders because of his military tactics.
The French Revolution not only impacted France but it left a worldwide effect. Many breakthroughs in science were made that are still used today!

Last Semester
Last semester, I learned that you need to study early for tests. If you start studying earlier, you actually memorize the information instead of cramming everything in the night before. I made better grades once I started studying earlier.
This semester I am going to try to study early for all tests and quizes. I am also going to put more effort in homework assignments and classwork. I hope doing these things will keep my grades high. I want to try and get almost all A's this semester.

My Christmas Break
Over the break, I did alot of things. I went to four christmas eve parties, and caught up with family. It was finally Christmas day and I opened presants with my siblings and cousins. We also ate brunch. The week after Christmas I said goodbye to alot of my family that had came into town. I could finally catch up with my friends. Not long after that was New years and I went to my parents party. After new years, it was almost time to go back to school, so I didn't do much. This break was fun but not long enough.
Research Update
My research project so far is going okay. My topic is broad, which make it hard to narrow down the important parts. One of the easiest parts was siting sources. On the other hand, finding them was not as easy, especially primary sources. The anootated bibliography was pretty easy, but time consuming.
It is stressful to complete tasks on certain dates instead of one deadline. It is also repatative because we work on it in two classes and for homework. There are also different expectations from teachers which can make it confusing.
