13 Reasons Why

One of my choice summer reading books was 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher. Although this book was sad, it was a good read. Hannah Baker is a high school student who struggles with friendships and trust. She regrets trusting the ones who were closest to her. As time goes on Hannah commits suicide. She leaves behind a set of cassette tapes. The tapes tell stories that explain why she committed suicide. Reading about everyone who received the tapes was chilling. This novel is filled with suspense and never becomes boring. 13 Reasons Why is now one of my favorite novels. This sad story is written so well. Jay Asher did such a good job explaining the story and capturing the characters emotions. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good, suspenseful,  realistic book.
